Minimum wage: NANS sends message to state governors.


The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has appealed to state governors to pay the in agreement wage to avert unrest within the nation’s establishments.

Mr Adeyemi Azeez, National publicity Officer of the association, created the decision during a statement in Abuja on weekday,NAN reports.

Azeez aforesaid it had been imperative to pay the wage on time to avert disruption in students’ tutorial calendar that would be caused by the labour unions’ industrial actions.

“The labour union and alternative sisters’ unions have continued  to threaten confrontation with the governors who have did not pay the in agreement wage.

“In the interest of our students, we have a tendency to beg those governors nonetheless to fits the payment of the new wage to quickly follow.
“This is as a result of NANS may be left with no alternative choice than to hitch forces with the Nigerian Labour Congress to fight to a standstill, any governor who refuses to follow.
“However, to avoid any type of unrest, we have a tendency to beg that the governors follow as before long as potential,” he said.

Azeez prayed for God’s knowledge on the governors and peace in their several states.

He, therefore, referred to as on the government to appear critically at the priority raised by the labour union over the handling of the country’s economy, notably its rising debt profile.

This, he said, had become a serious concern each domestically and internationally.
